Free Low Carb Diet Plan - Personalization is Key

Instead of purchasing expensive books or signing up for costly online programs that show you how to lead a low carb lifestyle, why not find a free low carb diet plan online and personalize it to fit your preferences, goals, and personality? This method is beneficial to long term results because it increases your chances of sticking with the plan long term and keeping the weight you lose off.

The problem with the many books currently on the market which offer low carb dieting plans is that they are designed with no individual person in mind. Instead of being tailored to an actual person, they are tailored to anyone and everyone. If there were a one-plan-fits-all that worked for literally everyone in the human population, none of us would be overweight today!

The trick to adopting a low carb diet plan that really works is to find one that can easily be customized to your own lifestyle. For instance, let's consider one potential free low carb diet plan which can easily be adjusted in a variety of ways:

Week 1: Switch from all refined carbohydrate products to 100% whole grain and reduce portion sizes from what you typically eat. Also cut out any sugary treats. Make sure you are eating vegetables and lean meat or low fat dairy at every meal.

Week 2: Further reduce consumption of your whole grain carbs while cutting out starchy foods such as potatoes and corn. Increase portions of vegetables at every meal, still eating lean meats for protein.

Week 3: Cut any remaining carbs out of your daily plan, relying completely upon vegetables and lean protein sources for 1-2 weeks.

Week 4: Add small portions of select complex carbs back into your life, such as whole grains and sweet potatoes. Try to start eating meals balanced like this:

* Half non-starchy vegetables

* A quarter lean or extra lean meat and/or low fat dairy

* A quarter complex carb and/or starchy vegetable

The exact foods that you choose to eat, when you eat, and how frequently you eat can all be adjusted with this type of free low carb diet plan.

What You Eat

There are a lot of different foods that fall into all of the categories given in the above free low carb diet plan. For instance, you could get your fair share of vegetables for lunch by making a salad loaded with fresh vegetables and then topping it with grilled chicken breast strips and a low sugar salad dressing. You could get your small amount of complex carbs by having an apple or half an orange along with it.

For dinner the same day you may opt to have green beans and sweet potatoes for your vegetables with an extra lean turkey burger on a 100% whole grain bun. If you are very serious about reducing carbs and losing weight you may opt to take off the top of the bun, halving the carb content of the meal.

The point here is that you don't have to live entirely without carbs the rest of your life to live a low carb lifestyle. In fact, some carbs are needed to sustain energy levels, especially if you are exercising as part of your overall weight loss program.

When You Eat

The time of day that you eat is one of the most important ways to personalize your diet plan. Plans that require you to eat at very specific times are difficult for many people to follow because of an active lifestyle that includes work, children, an exercise schedule, and a variety of other factors.

Besides making sure that you start your day off with something for breakfast, you can determine when the appropriate times are for you to eat. If you can plan your meals out ahead of time and prep the food a day or two in advance you will find it much easier to stick to your predetermined schedule without going off course due to extreme hunger.

How Frequently You Eat

If you can eat every 3-4 hours most days of the week you will find that you are less hungry between meals and therefore less likely to go off plan. Many people fall off their free low carb diet plan simply because they get hungry and don't have time to plan and prepare their meals properly.

If you do go off your low carb diet from time to time, simply go back to the beginning of your free low carb diet plan and start all over again.
